Peter Weller stars as cop Alex Murphy who, following his brutal torture at the hands of Clarence Boddicker and his crew, is resurrected as RoboCop. He sets about cleaning the streets up and, haunted by visions of his former life, is hellbent on tracking down those responsible for Murphy’s death.

On one level an ultra-violent sci fi action film, on another, a scathing satire on decaying American values, RoboCop was a surprise smash hit which courted controversy and praise in equal measure.
