We’ve been working with a new podcast recommendation engine recently and have been very impressed. Podcast Delivery are a fantastic newsletter offering that any podcast lover should be aware of.
Podcast Delivery’s Origin
Podcast Delivery first Monday newsletter was sent in April 2017 after realizing we could turn our mutual love of podcasts into something valuable for anyone chasing their next great listen.
At our core, Podcast Delivery started with a simple, almost old-fashioned idea: a human touch in a digital world. We wanted to bring back the feeling of a trusted friend saying, “Hey, you should check out this new show.”
We didn’t have grand designs at the start — just a belief that a single, well-chosen podcast recommendation could become a welcome weekly ritual for our readers. Over time, that idea of routine and real connection became a guiding force for us.
The Premise
What we’re doing is pretty straightforward: we promise that every Monday you’ll get a single featured podcast that’s worth your time.
But beneath that simplicity is a commitment to consistency. We want our readers to know they can rely on us. Every week, they can expect something fresh, something they might not have found on their own, and something that feels like it was chosen just for them. It’s about creating a small moment of delight at the start of the week.
The Early Execution
In those first few months, we found our groove by embracing a kind of “weekend ritual” of our own. We’d spend time throughout the week and our Saturdays and Sundays listening to new releases, letting our own preferences guide us.
When we found something that clicked, we’d write our review making sure to rely on our own voice, adding a bit of personality and context. We didn’t just say, “Here’s a podcast,” we said, “Here’s why we loved it, and here’s why you might too.”
That human element was crucial. It was never about being the biggest recommendation engine; it was about being the most genuine.
Standing Out
What sets us apart is that we’ve stuck to our guns. In a landscape where everyone is talking about how to scale up and automate, we’re intentionally staying a bit more handcrafted. We’re not trying to turn our newsletter into a podcast or a video channel just because that’s the trend.
We believe in doing one thing well and doing it with integrity. Our readers appreciate that we’re not trying to be everything at once; we’re just trying to be a reliable source of thoughtful recommendations.
All the Right Podcasts
Finding those hidden gems takes a bit of legwork. We’ve built relationships with smaller creators, we keep tabs on platforms, and we sift through press releases and new launches so that our readers don’t have to. We’re picky because we want to be. We’re not interested in flooding anyone’s inbox with average shows; we want to highlight the ones that really stand out. That means we’re curating with intention, always looking for the next great podcast that deserves a spotlight.
Finding Podcast Fanatics
In the end, this is about connecting with listeners and supporting independent creators.
We believe that the future of podcasting is diverse and independent, and we want to help level the playing field so that great content can come from anywhere. We’re always looking for ways to support those smaller voices, whether that’s through new technology, creative partnerships, or just continuing to highlight them in the newsletter.
The podcasting world is changing fast, but our mission stays the same: keep it real, keep it personal, and keep it about the joy of discovery.
The Best Deliveries Yet
If All The Right Movies curates films for people who love stories, Podcast Delivery does the same for those who live by their headphones. Both start from the same place: taste, not trends. After hundreds of Mondays, a few editions still replay in our heads — not necessarily the flashiest, but the ones that taught us something about why we do this.
The One That Started a Conversation — Expectant

Some episodes leave a trace. Expectant did more than that — it cracked something open. That May 15 edition began with a challenge to readers’ comfort zones and ended up sparking one of the liveliest threads we’ve ever had. It proved that recommending a podcast isn’t transactional when the subject matter hits close to home. The show’s quiet reckoning with climate anxiety and parenthood struck a nerve; it reminded us that podcasts, when chosen well, don’t just fill time — they expand it.
The Quiet One That Stayed With You — Lowlines

Not every recommendation needs fireworks. Lowlines was a slow burn — a reflective travelogue about stepping away from devices and rediscovering what it means to connect. Petra Barran’s deceptively simple question, “Where are you right now?” echoed for months after that February 12 send. It proved that intimacy doesn’t need scale; sometimes the smallest stories linger the longest.
The One That Defined Our Voice — High Strange
The One That Defined Our VoiceRead Podcast Delivery #290 | Listen to High Strange
Every outlet has the moment its tone clicks. For us, it was High Strange. The edition opened with “Greetings, human 🖖” — a wink that set the balance we’ve kept ever since: curious, informed, and never too self-serious. It affirmed that a bit of weirdness can sharpen perspective; curiosity, handled right, is its own editorial signature. High Strange reminded readers (and us) that wonder is a renewable resource.
The Collab with a Curveball — The Interruption

Working with Tommie Trelawny and Nicky Anderson on The Interruption taught us how collaboration can expand a story’s edges. What started as a dive into a 1977 broadcast signal hijacking evolved into a creative partnership full of behind-the-scenes curiosity. Their second series somehow topped the first — a reminder that, much like great filmmakers, great podcasters keep refining the craft.
